\nEd Sheeran revealed Sunday morning that he tested positive for COVID in an Instagram post. \u201cHey guys,\u201d Sheeran wrote. \u201cQuick note to tell you that I\u2019ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I\u2019m now self-isolating and following government guidelines.\u201d \u201cIt means that I\u2019m now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now, so I\u2019ll be doing as many of my planned interviews\/performances I can from my house,\u201d he continued. \u201cApologies to anyone I\u2019ve let down. Be safe everyone x\u201d Sheeran was due to perform on the Nov.6 episode of \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d as the musical guest to host Kieran Culkin. It is unknown whether his performance will continue in person or change to a remote. Sheeran performed at the inaugural Earthshot Prize awards in London last Sunday and was seen chatting maskless with the royals and Emma Watson at the event. Sheeran\u2019s fourth studio album, \u201c=\u201d comes out Oct.29. Touring for this album won\u2019t start until 2022. \u201cI started writing and recording this album June 2017. Its been a long, long process,\u201d he wrote in an Instagram post in August. \u201cI\u2019ve been through love, loss, new life, grief and everything in between during the whole period of writing it, and I feel like it\u2019s really a coming of age record. I\u2019ve never been more proud of a body of work, or more excited\/nervous for you all to hear it. The next song off of it is called Visiting Hours, which I finished for my friend Michael who sadly passed away this year.
