Her sister took to Twitter on Tuesday to revealed that Williams had died on July 20 of Wilson’s Disease, a rare condition that causes copper to accumulate in vital organs and can lead to brain, liver and kidney issues. «Bergen Williams succumbed to the ravages of Wilson’s Disease surrounded by loving family,» read the announcement. «Bergen was a writer, investor and actress who played Big Alice on the TV soap General Hospital.» While on the long-running ABC soap, California-born Williams proved popular in her comedic role as Big Alice, a resident housekeeper for the Quartermaine family who also led a double life as a wrestler going by the name The Dominator. Williams made her final appearance on the daytime soap in 2014. After her passing was announced this week, a host of Williams’ General Hospital co-stars took to social media to pay tribute to the late actress. Wally Kurth, who plays Ned Quartermaine on the show, wrote on Twitter: «Sending heartfelt condolences to Bergen’s family. She was a bright light in the Q house for many years. RIP.» «RIP,» read a simple message from Laura Wright, who has played Carly Corinthos on the soap for 16 years. Nancy Lee Grahn, who portrays Julia Wainwright Capwell on General Hospital, shared a video clip of Alice kissing her character, who was in disguise as a man. «Best kiss evah!» Gran captioned the grainy throwback video. «RIP dear Bergen.» Brandon Barash, who once starred on the show as Johnny Zacchara, also paid tribute to the actress, as he remembered her «radiant energy.» «Tragic,» he wrote in reaction to the news. «She was a special one who imbued truly radiant energy into every room she entered. Rest easy, old friend.» «So sad to hear that Bergen passed away,» said Sean Kanan, who departed his role as A.J. Quartermaine in 2014. «Although we hadn’t spoken in years I have many fond memories working together at the Q mansion. She will be missed.» Kimberly McCullough, known to General Hospital fans as Robin Scorpio, tweeted in her tribute: «Bergen was an incredible force to be reckoned with and I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. Blessings to Bergen’s family and close friends.» «So sad to hear of the passing of the wonderful Bergen Williams,» said Bradford Anderson, who portrays Damian Millhouse Spinelli on the show. So many fun times with the ‘Dominator’. RIP friend.» Actress Kent Masters King posted a lengthy tribute on her Instagram account, as she shared her memories of Williams. «I can’t remember what the scene was exactly, but it was one of those long nights on set that fortunately gave me the chance to work with and really meet Bergen,» she wrote. «From our very first chat, I was so in. She was interesting, smart, no bulls***, and funny. I ended the night very excited about my new friend. «As we got to know each other she shared with me her many talents as a writer, creator, and one amaaaaazing vegan chef. Having battled and won major health challenges, I was inspired by her resilience and warrior spirit. Bergen was kind and comforting as she generously offered support and guidance to me and a family member, who was facing a battle of their own.» «The last time I saw Bergen was at her house for an Oscar party, where we talked trash and her team destroyed mine in movie trivia, much to my amusement and dismay,» said King, known for her recurring role as Dr. Lainey Winters on the show. «I’d lost touch with her over the years, and wondered aloud from time to time where she was, how she was, and wished her well. I’m so sad to hear of her passing, but so grateful I got to call her my friend. RIP,» she concluded. Meanwhile, General Hospital ‘s executive producer Frank Valentini wrote on Twitter: «We are saddened to learn about the recent passing of Bergen Williams. She will always be an honorary Quartermaine and a special part our #GHfamily. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and fans. @GeneralHospital.»

The actress, famed for her role as «Big Alice» Gunderson on «General Hospital», passed away in July, it was announced this week.
