Last month, Sky Li, Founder and CEO of Realme, announced the company’s plan to enter the ultra-premium segment with a true flagship smartphone. Later that month, we at 91mobiles learned that Realme had started testing its upcoming ultra-premium flagship smartphone, dubbed Realme GT 2 Pro. We also brought you exclusive Realme GT 2 Pro specifications and renders. Now, Realme has confirmed the Realme GT 2 series launch date. The Realme GT 2 Pro is expected to be the first smartphone in the upcoming lineup. The brand has scheduled a special event on December 20th to unveil the upcoming Realme GT 2 series. The event will start at 9:00 GMT (2:30 PM IST), and it is expected to be live-streamed on Realme’s official Youtube channel. Realme in a statement said it plans to show off three new technologies, which could be related to the camera, fast charging, and display. The specifications and features of the upcoming Realme GT 2 Pro are under wraps. However, Realme has already confirmed that Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will power the Realme GT 2 Pro. Further, we know it will come with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB of internal storage. Last month, we at 91mobiles collaborated with the tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer aka OnLeaks to bring the exclusive renders of the GT 2 Pro. The renders show a horizontal camera module reminiscent of the Nexus 6P. The camera module can be seen housing a triple camera array consisting of a pair of 50MP cameras. The back panel seems to be carved out of ceramic, and the flat edges look metal. We didn’t get a view of the phone’s front, but we can expect GT 2 Pro to feature narrow bezels with a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Hemmerstoffer further suggested that the Realme GT 2 Pro could sport a 6.8-inch WQHD+ flat OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera island on the back is expected to feature an 8MP telephoto camera along with a 50MP main and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The smartphone was also spotted on AnTuTu last month, registering a score of 1 million+. There’s no idea about the Realme GT 2 Pro pricing, but it could be priced at over $800 (Rs 60,000). The Realme GT 2 Pro could launch in India in the coming weeks after its global unveiling.

Realme GT 2 Pro launch date has been revealed as the company has scheduled a special event on December 20th to show off three new technologies.
