Taskbar will let users \u201cnever combine\u201d icons<\/b>
\nMicrosoft is continuously working on refining the experience with Windows 11, and the most recent idea is to actually bring back a feature that was available in Windows 10.
As discovered by Albacore on Twitter, Microsoft wants to bring back a \u201cnever combine\u201d setting for the taskbar, which would essentially make it possible for users to keep all their taskbar items displayed separately.
\u201cWindows 11 is going to get a «Never Combine» taskbar item setting after all. It no longer features window titles like in Windows 10 & older releases, but retains the icon per window mechanic which some might still find useful. New in build 25246, hidden behind feature 29785186,\u201d Albacore explained in a recent tweet.
Since the debut of Windows 11, Microsoft has been continuously working on refining the experience with the taskbar. And the company has also brought back important features that were missing in the original release.
For example, Windows 11 Build 22557, which was released to insiders earlier this year, also brought back drag and drop support on the taskbar \u2013 in the meantime, the feature has already been shipped to production devices in version 22H2.
\u201cDrag and drop is now supported on the Windows 11 taskbar. Quickly drag and drop files between app windows, by hovering over apps in the taskbar to bring their windows to the foreground. Try attaching a file to an Outlook e-mail by dragging it and hovering over the Outlook icon in the taskbar to bring the window to the foreground. Once in the foreground, drop your file into the e-mail to attach it. You can also customize your taskbar with your favorite apps from Start\u2019s All apps list by dragging and dropping over the taskbar to pin them. You can also drag and drop to the desktop via \u201cShow desktop\u201d at the very right corner of the taskbar,\u201d Microsoft said at that time.<\/p>\n
