In a post on the site at 12.06am local time , the social media platform\u2019s billionaire owner added: \u201cIf a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we\u2019ll make (it) go live worldwide tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk posted an image of a flickering \u201cX\u201d, and later in a Twitter Spaces audio chat replied \u201cYes\u201d when asked if the Twitter logo will change, adding that \u201cit should have been done a long time ago\u201d.<\/p>\n

Under Musk\u2019s tumultuous tenure since he bought Twitter in October, the company has changed its business name to X Corp, reflecting the billionaire\u2019s vision to create a \u201csuper app\u201d like China\u2019s WeChat.<\/p>\n

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

Twitter\u2019s website says its logo, depicting a blue bird, is \u201cour most recognisable asset\u201d. \u201cThat\u2019s why we\u2019re so protective of it,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

The bird was temporarily replaced in April by Dogecoin\u2019s Shiba Inu dog, helping drive a surge in the meme coin\u2019s market value.<\/p>\n

The company came under widespread criticism from users and marketing professionals when Musk announced early this month that Twitter would limit how many tweets per day various accounts can read.<\/p>\n

The daily limits helped in the growth of Meta-owned rival service Threads, which crossed 100 million sign-ups within five days of launch.<\/p>\n

Twitter\u2019s most recent complication was a lawsuit filed on Tuesday claiming the firm owes at least US$500 million in severance pay to former employees. Since Musk acquired it, the company has laid off more than half its workforce to cut costs.<\/p><\/p>\n
