\u201cWicked: For Good\u201d star Ariana Grande is set to host the episode, marking her third time hosting \u201cSNL\u201d and fifth overall appearance after two stints as musical guest in 2014 and 2022. Grande was last on stage in Studio 8H in October 2024, when she hosted ahead of \u201cWicked\u201d hitting theaters.
Cher, whose first \u201cSNL\u201d appearance was in 1987, will be tonight\u2019s musical guest. She has been involved with \u201cSNL\u201d recently, though, as she performed during \u201cSNL50: The Anniversary Concert\u201d in February 2025.
Tonight\u2019s Christmas episode will also be repertory player Bowen Yang\u2019s last episode after seven years with the show. Yang, who recently co-starred with Grande in the \u201cWicked\u201d films, was hired as a writer on the show for Season 44, and was promoted to featured player in Season 45 before a Season 47 call-up to repertory player.
