So, it’s extending them a small payout for their troubles.
As spotted by 9to5Google and Reddit user SeparateFood9888, Visible is texting users to offer a $5 credit toward their next month of service. «Yesterday, we let you down, and for that, we are sorry», the Visible message says. «We are giving you a $5 credit towards your next month of service that can be redeemed after Jan. 16 when paying with a credit card online.»
The Reddit poster said they had not experienced an outage on Visible this week, but still got the credit. Others who did not receive the text message said they reached out to Visible customer service, which applied the credit to their accounts.
Verizon is offering customers a $20 credit, but many say that’s not enough to make up for the lack of service, which left some unable to work. Others were able to secure more by talking directly to Verizon’s customer support.
Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) that run on Verizon’s network include Total Mobile, US Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile, among others, but unlike Visible, they aren’t directly operated by Verizon. That may mean we won’t see them offer credits to customers.
Verizon has yet to provide a detailed explanation of what happened on Wednesday. A spokesperson told PCMag, «This was a software issue and we are conducting a full review.»

On Reddit, a number of Visible customers say they didn’t have any trouble on Wednesday but still managed to secure a $5 credit for their next bill.
