Marcello Hern\u00e1ndez recalled a «Saturday Night Live» sketch about aliens he thought was a home run but got crickets when pitched.<\/b>
\nMarcello Hern\u00e1ndez learned the hard way on \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d that each week is a clean slate \u2014 and not all of them are going to be home runs. Sitting with Brittany Broski on her \u201cRoyal Court\u201d podcast Friday, the comedian revealed an odd alien sketch with Kenan Thompson that got crickets when pitched and never saw the light of day.
The \u201cSNL\u201d star was asked about killing his darlings and if there was one bit he thought would land better than it actually did.
\u201cI\u2019m scared because some of them I want to bring back. I want to, like, fix it,\u201d the comic admitted, before teasing his alien pitch.
\u201cI wrote one where me and Kenan are bathroom attendants, but we\u2019re actually aliens,\u201d Hern\u00e1ndez said. \u201cIt was literally like us being bathroom attendants, and someone comes in and someone walks out, and we\u2019re like, \u2018We hope you enjoyed to pee with us, sir.\u2019\u201d
When Broski and her podcast team fell silent at the punchline, Hern\u00e1ndez joked, \u201cThat was the reaction \u2014 no good!\u201d

Hern\u00e1ndez continued: \u201cWe wrote a thing where we tell some guy, \u2018The toilet will accept whatever you give to it,\u2019 and then we thought that was hilarious, and it really was not.\u201d
\u201cBeing able to humble yourself is really special, it\u2019s very important,\u201d Broski said.
\u201cIt\u2019s important,\u201d Hern\u00e1ndez agreed. \u201cI\u2019m a big accountability guy.\u201d
Hern\u00e1ndez\u2019s career has been blossoming thanks to his time on \u201cSNL.\u201d Aside from continuing to be a cast member on the show, he also dropped his first comedy special on Netflix called \u201cAmerican Boy\u201d on Jan. 7. He will also join \u201cShrek 5\u201d alongside Skylar Gisondo voicing Shrek and Fiona\u2019s sons, Fergus and Farkle. He also appeared in \u201cHappy Gilmore 2\u201d in 2025.
