<!--DEBUG:--><!--DEBUG:dc3-united-states-mix-in-english-pdf-2--><!--DEBUG:--><!--DEBUG:dc3-united-states-mix-in-english-pdf-2--><!--DEBUG-spv-->{"id":3440131,"date":"2026-01-17T08:57:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-17T06:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/?p=3440131"},"modified":"2026-01-17T18:13:57","modified_gmt":"2026-01-17T16:13:57","slug":"world-bank-president-ajay-banga-named-on-trumps-gaza-board-of-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/2026\/01\/world-bank-president-ajay-banga-named-on-trumps-gaza-board-of-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"World Bank President Ajay Banga named on Trump\u2019s Gaza \u2018Board of Peace\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Indian-American President of the World Bank Group, Ajay Banga has been named on US President&#8217;s Gaza Board of Peace.<\/b><br \/>\nWashington: Indian-American President of the World Bank Group, Ajay Banga, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio are among the leaders named to the \u2018Board of Peace\u2019 for Gaza redevelopment under President Donald Trump\u2019s comprehensive plan to end the conflict<br \/>The White House on Friday released a list of appointed members to the founding Executive Board of the Board of Peace, which it said comprises leaders with \u201cexperience across diplomacy, development, infrastructure, and economic strategy\u201d.<br \/>Besides Banga and Rubio, the Executive Board includes US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Trump\u2019s son-in-law Jared Kushner, former UK prime minister Tony Blair, private equity firm Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan and US Deputy National Security Advisor Robert Gabriel.<br \/>\u201cEach Executive Board member will oversee a defined portfolio critical to Gaza\u2019s stabilisation and long-term success, including, but not limited to, governance capacity-building, regional relations, reconstruction, investment attraction, large-scale funding, and capital mobilisation,\u201d the White House said.<br \/>It added that additional Executive Board and Gaza Executive Board members will be announced in the coming weeks.<br \/>To establish security and a durable terror-free environment, Major General Jasper Jeffers, Commander of the US Special Operations Command Central, has been appointed Commander of the International Stabilisation Force (ISF).<br \/>He will lead security operations, support comprehensive demilitarisation and enable the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and reconstruction materials, the White House said.<br \/>\u201cThe United States remains fully committed to supporting this transitional framework, working in close partnership with Israel, key Arab nations, and the international community to achieve the objectives of the Comprehensive Plan,\u201d it said.<br \/>Trump has called on all parties to cooperate fully with the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), the Board of Peace, and the ISF to ensure swift implementation of the plan.<br \/>The NCAG has been described as a vital step in implementing phase-II of Trump\u2019s comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict, a 20-point roadmap aimed at lasting peace, stability, reconstruction, and prosperity in the region.<br \/>According to the plan, if both sides agree, the \u201cwar will immediately end\u201d.<br \/>Israeli forces will withdraw to an agreed-upon line to prepare for the release of hostages, while all military operations, including aerial and artillery strikes, will be suspended.<br \/>Battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for a complete staged withdrawal.<br \/>The initiative also envisages a \u201cTrump economic development plan\u201d to rebuild and revitalise Gaza by convening a panel of experts involved in developing modern \u201cmiracle cities\u201d in the Middle East.<br \/>As per the plan, investment proposals and development ideas from international groups will be considered to align security and governance frameworks, thereby attracting investment and generating jobs and opportunities.<br \/>It also proposes the establishment of a special economic zone with preferential tariffs and access rates to be negotiated with participating countries.<br \/>\u201cNo one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return.
