The FBI has executed a sealed search warrant at a Fulton County, Ga., elections hub to take election documents from the 2020 elections.<\/b>
\nJan. 28 The FBI on Wednesday executed a sealed search warrant at a Fulton County, Ga., elections hub to take election documents from the 2020 elections.
Unnamed sources told WAGA-TV in Atlanta that the search warrant is part of an investigation into alleged voter fraud in the election, which President Donald Trump lost to President Joe Biden. But authorities wouldn’t say what prompted the search warrant or what records the FBI was searching for.
The Election Hub and Operations Center is in Fairburn, Ga., just outside of Atlanta. It opened in 2023.
The U.S. Department of Justice has sued Fulton County to force it to turn over records from the election, but a judge hasn’t yet ruled on that case, CNN reported.
After his loss in 2020, Trump pushed Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to «find» enough votes to help him win the state’s electoral votes.
Trump and several of his associates faced criminal charges for trying to overturn the election. Some took plea deals, but the rest, including Trump, had the case dropped.
Salleigh Grubbs, a new member of the State Election Board, told WAGA-TV that she supported the action because «the people deserve answers.»
