So of course, the big question now is where the next destination will be \u2014 and who will be taking the trip? Although creator Mike White seemed to narrow down some options for the first query with his previous remarks about the show\u2019s future, the actual location is a bit of a curveball.
The White Lotus scored its Season 4 pickup on Jan. 22, about three weeks before the show had even begun airing its Thailand-set third season. The early vote of confidence from HBO indicates a pretty promising future for the series. It might even mean The White Lotus could continue long enough to fulfill White\u2019s dream of featuring every continent, an important tidbit that may clue fans in on future seasons\u2019 settings.

Despite theories that Season 4 would continue the show\u2019s trend of exploring new continents with each installment, it sounds like we\u2019re headed back to Europe. Deadline reported on Sept. 4 that France had been selected as the setting for the new season.
This is a left turn from previous hints that the show may be going down under. Back in the summer of 2023, White expressed his interest in exploring a new continent with each season of The White Lotus. \u201cMy dream would be to hit every continent,\u201d the showrunner said at a press conference in Sydney, Australia. As a nod to the location, he went on to all but confirm a future Australian-set season: \u201cWe kind of have to come to Australia if we keep going. It would be so fun. Obviously, there\u2019s a huge wealth of talent here and the beauty is inarguable, so it feels like it checks all the boxes.\u201d
At long last, HBO began revealing Season 4\u2019s cast towards the end of 2025. The first two actors who have been announced are AJ Michalka and Alexander Ludwig.
Since then, the cast has begun slowly filling out, with Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long being added.
On Jan. 29, two more stars were announced for Season 4: Chris Messina and Helena Bonham Carter.
The White Lotus is known for focusing on brand-new ensemble casts each season, but there does always tend to be a familiar face in the crowd. In Season 2, Jennifer Coolidge reprised her first-season role as Tanya McQuaid. And in Season 3, Natasha Rothwell returned as Belinda Lindsey from Season 1. The only cast member to appear in every season so far is Jon Gries as the villainous Greg.
Given how Season 3 ended, there\u2019s a good chance both Greg and Belinda could continue their story in France.
