\nA dance teacher from Pinehurst will be performing on one of the world’s biggest stages this weekend.
Brittney Ayers, a teacher at The Heat Dance Collective, will perform alongside Bad Bunny in the Super Bowl LX halftime show on Sunday night.

Ayers has been dancing since she was around three years old and has taught for nearly a decade.
She danced in college and has traveled the country dancing both recreationally and professionally.
Ayers found out that she’d been picked to dance in the halftime show after a rigorous application process in mid-January, just weeks before the show.
«You know, the first day, when you walk into the stadium and you see everything, you’re kind of like, ‘Oh boy'», Ayers said. «I don’t even get nervous. It’s almost like ingrained in my brain, like, alright, you gotta perform.»
It’s not her first Super Bowl performance.
She danced in her home state of Minnesota for Super Bowl LII, performing with Justin Timberlake.
«It was more upbeat, you know, groovy, you know, happy. And this one’s all like, rhythm and musicality, right? I will say the choreography, I think, is a lot harder than it was», Ayers said.
Ayers noted heightened security compared to the 2018 Super Bowl.
Ayers said she’s met dancers and choreographers from across the globe, all riding the high from Bad Bunny’s historic Grammy win just a few days ago.
«I think it’s a statement. It’s a cultural movement», Ayers said. «It’s almost invigorating because you’re a part of this huge movement that’s bringing the world and communities together.»
