In September 2016 the Tiangong-2 space lab was successfully launched and put into orbit.<br \/>Witnesses may see &#8216;series of fireballs&#8217; <br \/>Markus Dolensky, technical director of the International Center for Radio Astronomy Research in Australia, said witnesses to the Tiangong-1 descent should see &#171;series of fireballs&#187; streaking across the sky &#8212; provided there were no clouds.<br \/>&#171;It is now nearing its fiery demise as it gradually gets slowed down by the fringes of the Earth&#8217;s upper atmosphere,&#187; he said.<br \/>While it is not uncommon for debris such as satellites or spent rocket stages to fall to Earth, large vessels capable of supporting human life are rarer.<br \/>Nasa&#8217;s first space station, Skylab, fell to Earth in an out-of-control reentry in 1979, burning up harmlessly in the process.<br \/>The last space outpost to drop was Russia&#8217;s 135-ton Mir station in 2001, which made a controlled landing with most parts breaking up in the atmosphere.<br \/>The re-entry latitude of the Tiangong-1 is expected to be within 43 degrees north and 43 degrees south of the equator, a huge swath of the earth which stretches from New York to Cape Town. Scientists say it&#8217;s not possible to be more specific about exactly where it will come down.<br \/>&#171;Some parts of the upper atmosphere are thicker than others meaning the craft slows unpredictably and since it travels around the Earth in just 90 minutes even an uncertainty of a two minutes means the craft could fall anywhere along a 1,000 kilometer track,&#187; Alan Duffy, a research fellow in the Center for Astrophysics and Supercomputing at Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"td_post_ranks_tmp\" class=\"td-post-comments\" style=\"vertical-align: middle;display:none;\">\n<div style=\"float: left;\">Similarity rank: 19.5<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script>\n\/*jQuery(function() {\nvar mainContentMetaInfo = '.td-post-header .meta-info';\nvar tdPostRanks = '#td_post_ranks';\nif (jQuery(tdPostRanks).length) {\n    var tdPostRanksHtml = jQuery(tdPostRanks).get(0).outerHTML;\n    if (typeof tdPostRanksHtml != 'undefined') {\n        jQuery(tdPostRanks).remove();\n        jQuery(mainContentMetaInfo).append(tdPostRanksHtml);\n    }\n}\n});*\/\n<\/script><span>\u00a9 Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2018\/03\/29\/asia\/tiangong-1-china-space-lab-intl\/index.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rss%2Fedition_asia+%28RSS%3A+CNNi+-+Asia%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2018\/03\/29\/asia\/tiangong-1-china-space-lab-intl\/index.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rss%2Fedition_asia+%28RSS%3A+CNNi+-+Asia%29<\/a><br \/>\nAll rights are reserved and belongs to a source media.<\/span><\/p>\n<script>jQuery(function(){jQuery(\"#td_post_ranks\").remove();});<\/script><script>jQuery(function(){jQuery(\".td-post-content\").find(\"p\").find(\"img\").hide();});<\/script>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Chinese space lab could plummet back to Earth in the next 24 hours, authorities say, in a fiery end to one of the country&#8217;s highest profile space projects. &#171;There is no need for people to worry about its re-entry into the atmosphere,&#187; an article by the China Manned Space Engineering Office published on state [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":941808,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[115],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/941809"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=941809"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/941809\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":941810,"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/941809\/revisions\/941810"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/941808"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=941809"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=941809"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/ru\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=941809"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
