NewsHubPresident-elect Donald Trump says he actually doesn’t like tweeting, but that he needs to use the medium to overcome a dishonest media.
“I don’t like tweeting. I have other things I could be doing,” he said in an interview that aired Wednesday on “Fox & Friends.”
“But I get very dishonest media — very dishonest press,” Mr. Trump said. “And it’s my only way that I can counteract.”
“If the press were honest — which it’s not — I would absolutely not use Twitter. I wouldn’t have to,” he said.
In recent months, Mr. Trump has alternately praised, threatened and pitted various corporate giants against one another via Twitter, while also frequently taking shots at the media.
“Totally biased @NBCNews went out of its way to say that the big announcement from Ford, G. M., Lockheed & others that jobs are coming back … to the U. S., but had nothing to do with TRUMP , is more FAKE NEWS. Ask top CEO’s of those companies for real facts. Came back because of me!” he tweeted Wednesday morning.
Earlier this month, Mr. Trump also cast doubt on North Korea’s nuclear capabilities in a tweet.
“North Korea just stated that it is in the final stages of developing a nuclear weapon capable of reaching parts of the U. S. It won’t happen!” he said.
Last month, Mr. Trump also tweeted that the United States “must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes.”
That message came soon after Russian President Vladimir Putin talked about strengthening his own country’s nuclear forces.
