Hugh Jackman encounters 'Mario Kart' racers on streets of Tokyo

Actor Hugh Jackman documented a strange traffic encounter in Japan when he found himself alongside the cast of Mario Kart.
May 24 (UPI) — Actor Hugh Jackman documented a strange traffic encounter in Japan when he found himself alongside the cast of Mario Kart.
Jackman shared video to Twitter as he looked out the window of his car in Tokyo to find characters from the Nintendo-themed go-kart racing video game on Thursday.
“We’re here waiting for the green light and ohhhhh…” Jackman wrote.
A group of go-kart drivers dressed as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Bowser and other Super Mario characters were lined up next to Jackman’s vehicle before speeding off once the light turned green.
“They’re all there, ” Jackman said, as he began to list characters.
Once the light turned green Jackman began enthusiastically cheering for the Mario brothers as he shouted “Go Mario! Go Luigi! Go! Go!”
Jackman was in Tokyo to attend the Japanese premier of Logan, the final film in the Wolverine standalone series.
