Oscars announce Jimmy Kimmel returning as Academy Awards host, 2018 date – Orange County Register

This is when the Oscars will happen in 2018.
Jimmy Kimmel is coming back to host the Oscars a second time.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that the late-night funnyman, as well as producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd, would be returning for next year’s event.
It was also announced that the 90th edition of the event will air live on the ABC on Sunday, March 4,2018.
“Hosting the Oscars was a highlight of my career and I am grateful to Cheryl, Dawn and the Academy for asking me to return to work with two of my favorite people, Mike De Luca and Jennifer Todd, ” Kimmel said in a statement. “If you think we screwed up the ending this year, wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show!”
“Jimmy, Mike and Jennifer are truly an Oscar Dream Team, ” Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs said in a press release. “Mike and Jennifer produced a beautiful show that was visually stunning. And Jimmy proved, from his opening monologue all the way through a finale we could never have imagined, that he is one of our finest hosts in Oscar history.”
Kimmel is the host and executive producer of ABC’s late-night talk show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!.” De Luca has produced films, such as “Captain Phillips, ” “Moneyball” and “The Social Network.” Todd is the president of Pearl Street Films, where she produced “Live by Night” and executive produced 2016’s “Jason Bourne.”
The 90th Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and aired on ABC at 4 p.m. March 4.
