While Apple announced the next iterations of iOS, macOS, and watchOS today, the firm didn’t say much about what’s next for tvOS. As it turns out, this will be announced on Wednesday.
Today was the first day of Apple’s WWDC 2017 event, and the company announced new iterations of iOS, macOS, and watchOS. But while it led with tvOS, all the firm said was that Amazon Video is coming to Apple TV, and that more news would come later for what’s next for tvOS.
As it turns out, Apple will be holding a “What’s New in tvOS” session on Wednesday, which is June 7. It will begin at 10am Pacific Time, and you’ll be able to watch the live stream.
But if you don’t feel like waiting for an official announcement and you feel like exploring, you can actually download the Developer Beta right now. Neither the tvOS developer page nor the release notes link say anything that’s actually included in it, but if you’re a developer, you do have the option.
Obviously, tvOS 11 will be a more minor refresh than Apple’s other operating systems, as it didn’t deserve a spot on the main keynote. Of course, we’ll find out more on Wednesday.
