Ivanka Trump stopped by Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” on Monday to explain that she didn’ t expect this “level of viciousness” in Washington, D. C.
After the First Daughter told the Fox News hosts that she watches them on a daily basis, co-host Brian Kilmede asked her about James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
“My father felt very vindicated in all the statements that he’s been making and feels incredibly optimistic, ” she said before pivoting to her father’s infrastructure plan.
“Ultimately, we’ re focused on why the American people elected Donald Trump as their president, ” she said.
The conversation then shifted to Ivanka and her family moving to Washington, D. C. and she said “it is hard” to adapt to life in the nation’s capitol.
“There is a level of viciousness that I was not expecting. I was not expecting the intensity of this experience, ” she said. “But this isn’ t supposed to be easy. My father and this administration intend to be transformative.”
She continued: “We’ re looking to change the status quo.”
While Ivanka said she “didn’ t expect it to be easy, ” she admitted she’s been “blindsided” by the level of ferocity she has experienced so far.
“At the end of the day, if you want to think about difficult, it’s the factory worker that’s been laid off, ” she said.
