The Associated Press reports crew members aboard China Eastern Airlines Flight 736 noticed some damage to the left engine’s air inlet, which spurred its captain to return to Sydney. The plane, an Airbus A330, has two engines and was able to return and land safely without any injuries.
A. P. reports that passengers told Australian media outlets that they heard a massive noise and smelled something burning. A passenger said that after people on the plane heard a noise, the crew started moving everyone to one side.
