Just 29 percent of Americans hold a favorable view of the Republican party, the lowest score recorded in 25 years, according to the latest CNN poll.

The previous low of 30 percent favorability of the GOP was recorded in 1998 and 2013, CNN says of its results. The 29 percent is a 13-point drop since March, CNN reports.
Further, 79 percent of Republicans surveyed believe President Donald Trump is taking the country in the right direction, compared to just 53 percent who believe GOP congressional leaders are doing so.

Also, anger at both parties is on the rise across the spectrum of affiliated voters, according to CNN. Overall, 59 percent of Americans are angry at both parties, with the breakdown showing a rise in all three affiliations:
The CNN poll was conducted by SSRS by telephone from Sept. 17 to Sept. 20 among a random national sample of 1,053 adults. The margin of sampling error for results among the full sample is plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.
