The best Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL deals compared
Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL UK prices and release dates have been announced. Both EE and Carphone Warehouse are picking up the phones, while Google will also selling them unlocked and SIM-free.
The Google Pixel 2 starts at £629, while the cheapest Pixel 2 XL will cost £799, while plans on EE start at £49.99 up front and £42.99/month.
Carphone Warehouse deals for the Pixel 2 phones include deals on EE, O2, Virgin Mobile, Vodafone and Carphone’s own Three-powered virtual network iD .
We’ve rounded up some of the best prices going below.
Buying a Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL outright, unlocked and SIM-free will cost you the following:
EE’s recommended deals for all Pixel 2s all give you 8GB of data to play with, plus unlimited minutes and messages, and if you pre-order a Pixel 2 between now and the 2nd of November – or a Pixel 2 XL between now and the 14th of November – you’ll get a free Google Home Mini thrown in. Free BT Sport (for 24 months) and EU roaming is also included with every contract.
Whichever version you go for, the up front price for a Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL ends up being the same – £9.99. The only difference is the monthly price.
If that’s not enough, these roomier 25GB deals might be more to your liking; again, the up front price remains £9.99.
Carphone Warehouse is currently taking pre-orders for Google Pixel 2s, bundling them with EE, ID, O2, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone contracts,
The Google Pixel 2 XL was also available to pre-order from Carphone, on EE, O2 and Virgin Mobile contracts, although at the time of writing, no deals appear to be live.
Alternatively, you can buy the phones unlocked and SIM-free from Carphone Warehouse, for the same prices you’d pay at Google’s store. The advantage of buying from Carphone is that you’ll also be able to pick up a SIM-only plan, if you need one, at the same time:
International roaming in 50 destinations is also included, along with bill capping, which stops you from getting hit by excessive out of bundle charges.
At present, Carphone Warehouse isn’t offering pre-order deals for the Pixel 2 XL, but previously available deals included EE 12 months plans which saw you paying £699 and £799 up front for 64GB and 128GB Pixel 2 XLs, on £41/month plans.
These contracts would come with 30GB of data, 24 months’ free BT Sport access and six months of Apple Music access.
