For anyone looking to pick up Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for Nintendo 3DS, here are the Pokemon that are exclusive to each version of the upcoming game.
Since the franchise started with Pokemon Red and Blue, Pokemon games have had Pokemon exclusive to each version. The idea behind this is that players have to find others with the opposite version of the game they own and trade Pokemon in order to complete their Pokedex and “catch ’em all.” The upcoming Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are no different, with each featuring version-exclusive Pokemon and legendaries.
While it’s possible that Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon have more exclusive Pokemon than the ones listed here, these are all the exclusives known so far.
Pokemon Ultra Sun‘s in-game clock matches real world time, meaning it will be day time in the game when it is outside and vice versa. Since some Pokemon can only be caught during the day and others at night, it’s important that players keep this in mind when deciding which version of the game to pick up.
In the meantime, here are all the Ultra Sun-exclusive Pokemon:
As players can see, Ultra Sun has some strong exclusive Pokemon, like Alolan Vulpix, not to mention exclusive Ultra Beasts. Players that bought Pokemon Moon instead of Pokemon Sun will notice that some of the exclusive monsters are the same, so they may want to consider buying Ultra Sun instead of Ultra Moon.
Additionally, these legendary Pokemon can only be found in Pokemon Ultra Sun:
Like Pokemon Ultra Sun, the in-game clock in Pokemon Ultra Moon is a key factor as to why players might pick it over the other game. In Ultra Moon, the in-game clock is 12 hours off from real-world time, meaning it will be dark in-game when it is daytime outside and vice versa. Again, there are some Pokemon that can only be found during the day and some only at night, so players need to keep that in mind when deciding which version to pick up.
With that in mind, here are the Pokemon exclusive to Ultra Moon:
Whereas Pokemon Ultra Sun players can get their hands on Alolan Vulpix, Alolan Sandshrew is exclusive to Pokemon Ultra Moon. Ultra Moon also has its own Ultra Beasts for players to find in the game that won’t be seen in Ultra Sun at all.
Ultra Moon also has its own legendary Pokemon that can’t be found in Ultra Sun. Here are the legendary Pokemon exclusive to Ultra Moon:
Now that players know the Pokemon exclusive to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, they should have a better idea as to which version they want to buy. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see what other differences can be found between Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon when they launch later this week.
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be available on November 17th, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.
