‘Heavyweights’ actor Joseph Wayne Miller dead at 36

The ex-child star died Tuesday in his sleep.
Joseph Wayne Miller, who memorably portrayed Salami Sam in the comedy flick “Heavyweights” as a kid, has died at 36.
The ex-child actor died Tuesday in his sleep and was found by his girlfriend, Miller’s mother told TMZ .
Judd Apatow, who produced “Heavyweights,” fondly remembered working with Miller in the 1995 movie after learning of his death.
“When we made ‘Heavyweights’ being around Joe Miller was pure joy,” Apatow said in a statement.”We could not have loved spending time with him more. He made everyone around him so happy. What a terrible loss.”

A cause of death has not been revealed for Miller, who died in Chicago.
Miller starred alongside Ben Stiller, Kenan Thompson and more in “Heavyweights,” which centered on a group of children who attend a weight loss program called Camp Hope.
Another co-star, Aaron Schwartz, paid tribute to Miller in an Instagram post.
“Rest In Peace buddy,” he captioned the post.
