While Microsoft touted new Windows 10 S devices from Lenovo and JP, Lenovo also announced a series of Chromebooks – the 100e, 300e, and 500e – which are also aimed at the educational market.
While Microsoft touted new Windows 10 S PCs from Lenovo and JP, Lenovo announced some Chromebooks alongside of its new Windows PCs, which are also aimed at education. The new models include the 100e, 300e, and 500e.
The Lenovo 100e Chromebook is identical to its Windows counterpart, except it obviously runs Chrome OS. It comes with an 11.6-inch HD anti-glare display, an Intel Celeron N3350 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of onboard storage. Weighing in at 2.7 pounds with a 42Whr battery, it should get up to 10 hours of battery life.
The 100e will start at $219, and the Chrome variant will be available in March.
Armed with a MediaTek processor, the 300e adds a level of functionality by being a 360-degree convertible. It also has an 11.6-inch HD display, but of course, it includes 10-point multitouch.
As you’d probably expect, the Windows 10 variant doesn’t offer the same processor, although both variants have the same price point of $279. There’s also no pen support for the Chrome model. The 300e Chromebook will ship in February.
Finally, the 500e Chromebook is the highest end of the three. It includes an Intel Celeron N3450 processor, and up to 8GB RAM and 64GB storage. This 360-degree convertible even comes with a built-in pen, so students should be less likely to lose it.
The 500e will be available this month, starting at $349.
