He’s doing well.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was reportedly successfully treated for prostate cancer last summer.
An unnamed source close to Romney told CNN’s Jake Tapper that the 2012 Republican presidential nominee “was treated over the summer for prostate cancer. He was treated surgically by Dr. Thomas Ahlering at UC Irvine Hospital in California.”
The prognosis, the source said, “is good,” noting Romney “was successfully treated”:

News of Romney’s reported treatment came just days after Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) announced he will retire from Congress at the end of his current term, paving the way for Romney to re-enter the political fray.
In September, it was reported Romney, who moved to Utah after two failed presidential bids, would run for Hatch’s seat should he step down. The outgoing senator, for his part, said at the time that Romney “would be a great thing for America.”
The former governor, who is believed to be gearing up for a Senate run, has not yet publicly addressed the matter.
