The smartphone market has always been obsessed with numbers. The bar of basic camera specs, RAM and internal storage has been on the rise. Catching up on the trend now is Motorola as the company has now launched a 6GB RAM variant of its most-recently launched handset, the Moto X4. This makes the Moto X4 the first phone from the company to feature a 6GB RAM. Also, this new handset will run Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box.
The handset has been priced at Rs 24,999 and directly competes with Honor 8 Pro and Oppo F5. It will be available both online at Flipkart and offline through Moto Hubs in two colour options — Super Black and Sterling Blue starting 11:59 pm, 31st January.
As part of the launch, the company is offering a few introductory offers that will be valid on Flipkart. Customers can get Rs 1,500 flat discount with ICICI bank credit cards. There is also an exchange offer of up to Rs 3,000. Vodafone users can get up to 490GB data free after a recharge of Rs 199. Interested users can also buy the new Moto X4 at no cost EMIs starting from Rs 2,083 for up to 12 months.
Apart from the RAM and operating system version, there is no difference in the specs of the newly launched handset as compared to the handset launched in November, which was available in 3GB and 4GB RAM options at Rs 20,999 and Rs 22,999 respectively.
The smartphone features a 5.2-inch full HD display with 1080×1920 pixels resolution with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor with Adreno 508 GPU. There is an internal storage of 64GB and a microSD card support of up to 2TB. The handset sports a dual rear camera setup of 12MP autofocus pixel sensor + 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with 120-degree field of view. The 12MP primary camera comes with f/2.0 aperture, while the 8MP secondary sensor has f/2.2 aperture. The front of the smartphone houses a 16MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and a dedicated LED flash.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type C. Backing the device is 3000mAh battery, which also supports 15W TurboPower. The company claims that the smartphone can deliver six hours of power with 15 minutes of charging.
