DETROIT — Funeral services have been announced for the Detroit Police Department officer who died in an on-duty crash on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
The vigil for Darren Weathers, 25, is at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Second Precinct, 13530 Lesure St., Detroit.
The viewing will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Rosedale Park Baptist Church at 14179 Evergreen Road, Detroit.
The family hour for the funeral will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Second Ebenezer Church 14601 Dequindre Road, Detroit. The service begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Weathers was in a training exercise related to practicing surveillance and was struck by another vehicle with two to three occupants near Michigan and Clark.
His vehicle was pushed into a metal pylon. Another officer tailing Weathers witnessed the crash.
