Let Nintendo know what you really think
A new update to Nintendo’s website now allows users to leave customer reviews of specific Switch games.
Certain games like Splatoon 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild already have the new review mechanic implemented on those individual pages. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you’ll see a section called “Customer Reviews,” with five stars just underneath it. People are allowed to leave reviews after signing into their Nintendo Account.
Unlike traditional review pages on websites like Best Buy or Amazon, Nintendo’s review section gets a little more personal. Players are asked to select from a series of tags that include terms like “challenging,” “easy to play,” “graphics,” “kid appropriate” and “great value.” Players are also asked to describe what kind of gamer they are, ranging from casual player to core gamer, and specify whether the review contains spoilers.
This isn’t the first time that Nintendo has offered something akin to these new review pages on its website. The publisher allowed game recommendations for Wii titles, too, but this is the first time official reviews have been allowed on the site for the Switch.
Reviews for specific Switch games are rolling out, but not all titles have those sections just yet. People can leave reviews for games — this is your chance to really tell Nintendo how much you loved Breath of the Wild — by going to the company’s game guide section.
