In conjunction with Sony, Bluepoint Games officially releases a gorgeous launch trailer for its remake of the PS2-era classic, Shadow of the Colossus.
After having endured a somewhat lengthy wait, fans can now purchase Bluepoint Games’ remake of the classic PS2-era action-adventure title, Shadow of the Colossus, with reviews having already showered praise upon the release. Now, in order to celebrate its availability, Sony Interactive Entertainment has uploaded a launch trailer for the game that highlights snippets of gameplay footage and showcases its gorgeous visuals.
As seen below in Sony and Bluepoint Games’ Shadow of the Colossus launch trailer, a handful of the remake’s various Colossi are shown off, including Valus, Quadratus, Gaius, and more. Although the launch trailer for the remake isn’t particularly lengthy, newcomers unfamiliar with the original title should be able to get a grasp as to how the game operates as less of a hack-and-slash, and more of a strategically-oriented action and exploration release.
For those unaware, Shadow of the Colossus originally released way back on October 18,2005, for the PlayStation 2, and the game tells the story of a young boy named Wander who travels to a forbidden land in order to revive a loved one. Should Wander wish to succeed in his quest, he must travel throughout this uncharted territory with the assistance of his trusty steed and defeat the game’s sixteen different Colossi.
Although the Shadow of the Colossus remake just released today as an exclusive PlayStation 4 title, it looks as if the developer Bluepoint Games is already turning its attention toward another project it has in the pipeline. As a matter of fact, it looks as if the studio has set its sights on remaking another “classic,” with the company currently in the hiring stages for its next work-in-progress. If the Shadow of the Colossus remake developer’s track record is any indication of what’s to come, then it’s highly likely that it will be a remake of another PlayStation-only property.
Bluepoint Games’ Shadow of the Colossus remake is available now for PlayStation 4.
