What to Watch on Monday: An HBCU documentary and more Winter Olympics action

HBCUs (historically black universities and colleges) are in the spotlight on UNC-TV / PBS. More Winter Olympics ice dancing, figure skating and bobsled.
HBCUs Legacy & Leadership (9 p.m., UNC-TV) – This “Black Issues Forum Special” on historically black colleges and universities is produced and hosted by Raleigh native Deborah Holt Noel. It’s followed by the Independent Lens documentary “ Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges & Universities “ at 10. That documentary tells the story of HBCUs and the pivotal role they have played in shaping American history, culture and national identity.
2018 Winter Olympics (8 p.m., NBC) – In primetime, we get the conclusion of figure skating’s ice dancing competition, with U. S. siblings Maia and Alex Shibutani. Also, gold finals in women’s freestyle skiing halfpipe and the two-man bobsled.
Warren Jeffs: Prophet of Evil (9 p.m., A&E) – In this two-hour special, current and former members of the FLDS discuss controversial church president Warren Jeffs, who was convicted of two felony counts of child sexual assault in 2011. (Note: Investigation Discovery channel also has a Warren Jeffs special tonight — “An Evil Lives Here” — at 8 p.m.)
The Alienist (9 p.m., TNT) – The team learns more about the killer and Kreizler seeks advice from an old mentor.
