The leaks and rumours related to OnePlus’s upcoming smartphone, the OnePlus 6, never seem to stop. Previously, a few renders of the upcoming phone along with AnTuTu score surfaced on the internet. And now the latest leaks have given us a rough idea regarding what to expect from the upcoming flagship. Without further ado, let’s take a look at a roundup of all the leaks and rumours that appeared online in the past few weeks.
According to the leaks, the OnePlus 6 could come with a 6.2-inch display bearing a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. One can expect the phone to look more like a Oppo’s R15 that debuted in China, a few days back. OnePlus, as we know, has a habit of taking questionable design inspiration from Oppo. As for the other details regarding the display specs, the upcoming OnePlus 6 may feature a iPhone X-like notch with 19:9 aspect ratio.
Concerning hardware details, the smartphone is tipped to come powered by Qualcomm’s current superior Snapdragon 845 chipset clubbed with Adreno 630 GPU for graphics. Following the previous variant options that OnePlus offered with the OnePlus 5T and the OnePlus, 5, the OnePlus 6 will most likely be offered in 6GB RAM/64GB storage and 8GB RAM/128GB variants. However, the leaked specs sheet suggests that this time OnePlus may offer the 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage instead of 64GB storage and the 8GB variant with 256GB storage instead of 128GB storage, slightly drifting from its previous offerings.
On the software side of things, the OnePlus 6 will run Android 8.1 Oreo-based Oxygen OS, which is already up and running on its previous phone like the OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 5, and the OnePlus 5T. Regarding optics, reports suggest that the OnePlus 6 may feature a 16MP + 20MP dual lens camera on the rear with f/1.7 aperture, as seen on the OnePlus 5T, but this information does not seem believable as OnePlus is most likely to improve the camera on the OnePlus 6 to make it better than the 5T. On the front, the phone is reported to come with a 20MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. Powering the OnePlus 6, there will be 3450mAh battery, similar to Oppo’s R15.
For connectivity, the phone may come with support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, USB 3.1 Type-C connector, GPS with A-GPS, and GLONASS.
According to the leaked AnTuTu benchmark scores, the OnePlus 6 prototype scored a whopping 2,76,510 points on AnTuTu, clearly defeating the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. The AnTuTu benchmark screenshots also suggested that the OnePlus 6 could feature an iPhone X-like notch on the front with the same 19:9 aspect ratio.
Going by the leaked pricing of the OnePlus 6, that made rounds on the internet a few days back, the phone could be priced around $749 (approximately, Rs. 48,875) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. If the OnePlus 6 indeed comes with the said price tag, it may not appeal to the buyers who go for the brand because of its high-end specs and comparatively affordable pricing than the industry veterans such as Samsung and Apple.
The OnePlus 6 will come out of the veil in early or mid-June, as confirmed by the company’s CEO at beginning of 2018. If the company’s sticks to its plans of launching the device in the set timeline then we can expect it to start shipping by the end of June 2018 or early July, globally.
Well, these were the details that we know about the OnePlus 6 for now. Of course, there are going to be more leaks and rumours about the device until it gets launched. Stay tuned with us to receive regular updates about the OnePlus 6.
