Samsung is thinking about changing up the Galaxy S10 name when it gets launched next year, so the same thing could happen with the upcoming Galaxy Note 9. According to the latest trademark filed in Columbia, the Galaxy Note 9 will possess the same model name as Samsung will continue its numbering scheme, for now at least.
This will show that the name of the Galaxy Note 10 might be changed to Galaxy Note X when it is announced next year, but enough talk about speculations and more thoughts on what should we be getting excited for when the Note 9 launches later this year.
Samsung might be giving its Galaxy Note 9 the same treatment with the involvement of the in-glass fingerprint reader. Though rumours are subjected to a lot of change with the passage of time, what we are hearing at this moment is that the company’s king of flagships might not feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for unknown reasons.
Samsung will employ Super AMOLED screen technology on the upcoming phone which means that only the Synaptics variant of the in-glass fingerprint reader can be used beneath the display of the Galaxy Note 9. Perhaps it is the lack of speed that might be forcing Samsung to do away with this technology for now. If it does end up being present on the smartphone then it will be an exciting change to look forward to and also give buyers an extremely convenient way of unlocking their smartphone.
It is possible that Samsung makes arrangements to see the Galaxy Note 9 feature a 6.3-inch QHD+ display (2960×1440 resolution), but there are other things that could happen. The display is where we might see the biggest change ever because unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s QHD+ resolution, the Note 9 is expected to have an amazing 4K+ display.
If Samsung follows the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio like it has with all of its devices that feature the Infinity Display, it would mean that the phone will have a resolution of 4440 x 2160. That is a lot of pixels and the phablet might also get a bigger battery capacity to back up those pixels.
The user will obviously be able to reduce the resolution to conserve battery life but we you’ve got to admit, everything ranging from the images, videos and games (if they are running on the native resolution) will look stunning on such a screen. The battery capacity might be 3,600mAh but we’ll see if we hear more information about a larger capacity possibly finding its way inside the upcoming flagship.
An Exynos 9810 and Snapdragon 845 featured with 6GB of RAM seem the most obvious internal specifications for the Galaxy Note 9. A dual-camera with a 1.2Gbps LTE modem can also be seen. Video recording support will be retained at 4K @ 60 frames per second, but unlike the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, the Note 9 might not end up overheating and reduce the resolution.
The Galaxy Note 9 could feature a $900 price tag, which brings us to an unofficial Rs. 58,567.50 price tag for now. Samsung could once again try to announce the smartphone before Apple will announce three new iPhones during the month of September. This can mean that the Galaxy Note 9 will have an August announcement, with pre-orders kicking off the very next week.
Since Samsung sells its devices worldwide, shipments of the smartphone could take place as early as the month of September, taking away a noticeable percentage of the market share from Apple.
