Looks like rival smart TV manufacturers are already are preparing and gearing up to counter Xiaomi’s newly introduced Mi TV 4a lineup. Vu Televisions, a company focused on bringing affordable smart TVs to the Indian market is now set to launch an Android TV-based television on March 13.
Vu Televisions will be hosting an event in Bengaluru to launch the Android-based television. The company has also sent out media invites for the event along with a tagline which reads — “Okay Google, Let’s Vu”. It appears, by introducing the smart television, Vu Televisions is basically looking forward to counter Xiaomi and give a tough competition to the newly launched 32-inch and the 43-inch Mi TV 4A.
The Mumbai based Vu Televisions has launched several Android-based smart television in the past. The upcoming Television by the company is said to be its first ever Android TV offering. We can also expect Vu Televisions to price the upcoming Android TV at par with the Xiaomi Mi TV 4A. This means that the upcoming Android Television by Vu Televisions will fall under the affordable smart TV category.
On the pricing point, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 32-inch Mi TV 4A has been launched in India at a price tag of Rs 13,999, while the bigger version which comes packed with a 43-inch screen will cost buyers Rs 22,999. Both the 32-inch and the 43-inch Mi TV 4A versions will be up for grabs from Mi.com/in, Mi Home Stores and Flipkart starting March 13.

While the 32-inch Mi TV 4A supports HD resolution (1366×768 pixel) the 43-inch Mi TV 4A has a full-HD resolution (1920×1080). Both the TVs are powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Amlogic T962 Cortex-A53 processor paired with Mali-T450 GPU. Both the TVs come with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of flash storage, Wi-Fi (802.11ac), along with 20W speakers with support for DTS audio. The 32-inch Mi TV 4A has 3 HDMI ports (including 1 ARC port), and 2 USB ports, as well as an Ethernet port while the 43-inch Mi TV 4A includes 3 HDMI ports, 3 USB ports along with an S/PDIF port.
The Mi TV 4A, much like the 55-inch Mi TV 4, is also based on Android and runs Xiaomi’s custom ROM called PatchWall. Yet again, just like the Mi TV 4 55-inch, the Mi TV 4A will also support almost every prominent set-top box that’s available in India like Tata Sky and Dish TV, down to even those that are offered by local players like Hathway and Siti cable.
