Samsung is expected to launch two new Galaxy A series smartphones in the days to come. These are the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+. The launch timeline of the devices is yet to be confirmed by Samsung, but we can expect the smartphones to go official in the next few months or so. Ahead of the launch, full specs and pricing details of the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ has been leaked online along with images. The newly leaked specs details don’t differ a lot from the old rumours. It re-confirms that the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ will indeed come with Infinity Display like most of the latest Samsung phones. As far as the pricing of the phones is concerned, with the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ Samsung is mostly looking forward to targeting the “price-conscious” customers, reveals the new leak.

Overall, the Galaxy A6 and A6+ will not differ a lot when it comes to design. However, the specs sheet of the two phones will vary a bit. The Galaxy A6+ will be a high-end version of the A6 and will come with a much bigger display compared to the Galaxy A6. Going by the latest leak, the Galaxy A6 will boast of a 5.8-inch SuperAMOLED display, while the A6+ will come with a 6-inch SuperAMOLED display. Both the A series smartphones are expected to come with Samsung’s own voice assistant — Bixby support and Android 8.1 Oreo. The Galaxy A6+ will come with an improved camera set up, more battery and much better hardware set up as compared to the A6.
Let’s take a detailed look at the specs and pricing of the phones that the smartphones are expected to come with:
Coming to the A6 first, which is expected to be a cheaper variant out of the two, the smartphone will come with a 5.6-inch SuperAMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1480×720 pixels. The Galaxy A6 will come with 18:9 aspect ratio. On the hardware front, the smartphone is expected to be powered by Samsung Exynos 9 Octa 7870 chipset paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Reports are that in some countries Samsung may bring a 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage model as well. The storage will most likely be expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. The smartphone will run Android 8.1 out-of-the-box based on Samsung Experience.
The Galaxy A6, unlike the Plus model, is expected to come with a single rear camera. The smartphone on the rear will include a 16-megapixel sensor with a f/1.7 aperture, while on the front it is said to come with a 16-megapixel camera with an aperture size of f/1.9. The front camera will also come with a LED flash paired along. The Galaxy A6 is expected to come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor which will sit right below the camera setup. The smartphone is also expected to come with a face recognition feature. The Galaxy A6 is also expected to be backed by 3000mAh battery and come with support for Samsung Pay.
As mentioned, Galaxy A6+ will be bigger in size than the A6. The Plus variant will come with a 6-inch SuperAMOLED display and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Samsung is also expected to launch a 64GB storage variant of the A6. On the camera front, the Galaxy A6+ is expected to come with a dual camera set up on the rear.
The smartphone will include a primary sensor of 16-megapixel with an aperture size of f/1.7, and the secondary sensor of 5-megapixel with an aperture size of f/1.9. The front camera of the A6+ will be a much-improved version of the A6 as the smartphone is expected to come with a 24-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 aperture and a LED flash. The smartphone will be backed by a much bigger battery compared to the A6. It will be backed by a 3500mAh battery. The smartphone will run Android 8.1 out-of-the-box based on Samsung Experience.
On the pricing point, the Galaxy A6, as already mentioned will be expensive than the Plus model. The Galaxy A6 is expected to be priced between 300 and 340 euros – which is roughly around Rs 24,000 – Rs 27,000. On the other hand, the Galaxy A6+ is expected to be priced between 360 – 400 euros which are around Rs 29,000 – Rs 32,000.
