A military strike against Syria in retaliation for last weekend’s suspected chemical attack “could be very soon or not so soon at all!” President Trump said Thursday.
“Never said when an attack on Syria would take place,” Trump tweeted.
He continued: “In any event, the United States, under my Administration, has done a great job of ridding the region of ISIS. Where is our “Thank you America?”
The comments come a day after the president, apparently reacting to comments made by the Russian ambassador to Lebanon that Moscow would shoot down any missiles fired at Syria, warned the Motherland that the missiles “will be coming, nice and new and ‘smart! ’”
Less than an hour later, Trump took a conciliatory turn, tweeting:
“Our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War. There is no reason for this.”
