“It’s unbelievable,” the singer and actor shared of the good news.
Tyrese Gibson and his wife Samantha are expanding their family.
The couple is set to welcome a baby girl this September.
“Both of our love and energy and magic and family are bonded forever because we’re going to have this child,” the “Fast and Furious” star told People . “It’s unbelievable.”
Tyrese and Samantha secretly married on Valentine’s Day 2017 and learned in January that there was a bun in the oven.
Friends and family beamed with joy after receiving the news. “There was no greater reaction than her mom’s reaction,” Tyrese, 39, said. “Samantha is her only daughter, and this has been prayers for years and years, for her to get married and find the right one and start a family.”
“We were able to conceive at the right time, I believe,” Samantha, 29, added. “There was a lot that happened last year – everyone is aware of that – and so to have the opportunity… really start a new chapter in the way that has happened, I just look to God and I’m like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe that you would plan it this way and you do it so perfectly.’”
While this is the couple’s first child together, Tyrese has a daughter, Shayla, 10, with ex-wife Norma.
Tyrese and Norma engaged in a nasty custody battle in 2017. He even suffered an online meltdown and underwent an investigation by children services over abuse allegations.
“Unfortunately as entertainers and public figures, you have to go through very private matters publicly sometimes,” he said of his rocky year. “I’m just happy to be on the other side of it and have my daughter back home with us.”
