This week the GR staff are still reeling from a bunch of surprising announcements, from the reveal of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee through to the Fallout 76 teaser that dropped earlier today. It’s not even E3 yet, and already we’re being inundated with big reveals.

In between all of the big news, we’ve still found time to play a few games in our spare time. Here’s what’s been on rotation in the GR Towers this week, and as always, let us know what you have been playing in the comments section below!
Paul Tamburro: I’m playing Pokemon Quest, which is a wonderfully simple and accessible game aimed at kids, but completely blighted by free-to-play elements. I got less than an hour in before it was made clear that it wanted me to fork over cash to start progressing through it at a reasonable rate. It’s disappointing, but I guess it can give me a swift fix of beating up harmless animals until Pokemon Let’s Go arrives.
Jason Faulkner: Right now I’m playing Agony and it’s a true exemplar of its namesake. I’ll be posting a full review, but so far there’s a lot of running through brown and red tunnels and falling into holes.
Ginny Woo: I’ve been playing Final Fantasy XIV. A new patch for the MMO has just dropped and there’s nothing quite like the catharsis of grinding reputation for a kickass mount. Just….. one…. more…. beast… tribe…. quest……
Mack Ashworth: Slowly making my way through Detroit Become Human. Really enjoying it so far! I’ll be giving the PUBG Sanhok map another go on June 1st, once the test phase begins.
Bradley Russell: I’ve been playing Fight Night Champion, mostly because Microsoft is going above and beyond with its Xbox One backwards compatibility and I needed a boxing game in my life. It’s a crying shame that we haven’t seen one since 2009 because the Full Control Spectrum is one of the most ingenious control schemes I’ve ever come across. E3, anyone?
Astrid Johnson: I went back and at last got around to playing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 campaign, and thoroughly enjoyed myself despite getting the worst ending. Riding a horse around while blowing up helicopters with an RPG in the Soviet Afghanistan invasion mission was pretty awesome.
Michael Leri: I finally downloaded Prey, sat down, and was ready to finally play this weirdly divisive game in preparation for whatever Bethesda has been teasing. So naturally I actually started Just Cause 3 and have not been able to put it down. It may be a slideshow at times on my PS4, but it’s the silliest, most explosive god dang PowerPoint presentation I’ve played in a long time.
Cody Perez: I’m playing the new Pokemon Quest game on Switch as well as checking out all of the new content in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 4.3. Pokemon Quest is a fun, cute “mobile” game so don’t go in expecting anything more than that and you’ll be fine.
