Democratic Rep. John Lewis said he is willing to go to jail to protest the separation of families who are apprehended illegally trying to enter the country at a rally Wednesday morning.

“Now is time to do what is right, what is fair and what is just.… I will go to the borders. I’d get arrested again. You know, if necessary, I’m prepared to go to jail,” Lewis stated.

“This has been going on too long, and it must stop. And it must stop now,” he continued. “Not tomorrow, but now!”
Lewis has talked about the same topic on the House floor, saying that “our nation is crying out to save our little children.”
He also made references to his experiences with segregation during the rally.
