White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called out Democrat lawmakers for not being willing to work with Republicans on an immigration bill during Monday’s briefing.

“It is a Republican issue. Republicans cannot pass the Republican bills. What does the president do as the leader of the party —” started Jeff Zeleny, a CNN Senior White House correspondent, before Sarah cut him off.
“Jeff, these are not Republican bills but that fix a broken system,” Sanders stated. “They may have Republican sponsors, but these should be bipartisan. This shouldn’t be complicated.”
Republicans have proposed two bills to fix the current immigration situation, but neither are expected to pass through both the House and the Senate.
“Look, the house is already passed over 500 pieces of legislation,” she continued. “But they can’t get through the Senate because Democrats refuse to actually find solutions. We have 50 bills that passed just last week to address the opioid crisis that passed through the House. The Senate still hasn’t taken them up.”
