13.5m people made their first purchase on Steam between January 1st and April 30th of this year.
That’s according to Valve business development boss Jan-Peter Ewert, who when speaking at the Business Conference for Games Industry in Russia, and also said that there were 3.375m new buyers each month during that time.
Ewert also said that the number of payment methods available on Steam has helped contribute to this. This has doubled since 2014; in the last four years, it has risen from 40 to 80.
Furthermore, Steam’s peak concurrent user figure has risen to just under 20m from between five and ten million four years ago.
Meanwhile, the number of daily active users has risen from 10m in 2014 to 40m in 2018.
