“The Rs 399 RED postpaid plan now offers 40GB data, compared with 20GB before the revision”
Another day and yet another announcement from the ever-competitive Indian telecom sector. Vodafone has now revised its entry-level RED postpaid plans in order to tackle the competition posed by Reliance Jio’s affordably priced postpaid plans in the country. Vodafone has revamped its entry-level Rs 399 and Rs 499 RED postpaid plans in India to offer increased mobile data benefits. The base-level Rs 399 RED postpaid plan now offers 40GB of data, compared to the 20GB earlier, along with unlimited local and STD calling. There is up to 200GB of data rollover option and bill guarantee, which essentially aims to offer the lowest bill for usage on your postpaid plan. On the other hand, with the Rs 499 RED postpaid plan, you get 75GB data, up from the earlier 40GB. Just like the Rs 399 plan, you get unlimited STD and local calls (even while roaming), and 200GB of rollover data option.
With the Rs 399 postpaid plan, users get service benefits, like Vodafone Play and Amazon Prime subscription, worth Rs 1,498, for free. On the other hand, the Rs 499 plan offers service benefits worth Rs 4,498 to the subscribers. The new revisions mean that the Vodafone RED postpaid plans now offer more data benefits than the Airtel Infinity plans. To give you a fair idea about the Airtel offering, the Rs 399 Infinity plan offers users 20GB of Internet data whereas the Rs 499 plan provides the users with 40GB of mobile data. Notably, the Airtel Infinity plans also provide users with an annual subscription of Amazon Prime. If we bring in Reliance Jio into the mix, the Rs 199 postpaid plan from the Mukesh Ambani-led company offers 25GB 4G data along with unlimited voice calls.
