An 11-year-old girl who was trapped in a burning Graham house and died from her injuries has been identified.
An 11-year-old girl who died after being trapped inside a burning Graham house was identified Wednesday as Lillian Recardo.
Investigators have not determined what started Friday’s fire in the 4300 block of 293rd Street Court. It did not appear to be a suspicious fire, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
Lillian’s 80-year-old grandmother left her home alone for a few minutes while she ran to a nearby store for groceries.
While she was gone, a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the house and called 911.
Two firefighters found Lillian inside and rescued her, but she died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle the next day.
Officials said the girl suffered from a disability that prevented her from getting out of the house on her own.
