Durham, N. C. — A man was killed after being ejected from his vehicle during a Tuesday morning crash in Durham.
Durham police said Fredrick Darius Yarbough, 30, of Durham, was traveling south on N. C. 55 near Whilden Drive when he ran off the road and lost control of his Honda Civic.
Authorities said the Honda spun and slid down the road, causing the passenger’s side of the car to collide with the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped in the left turning lane.
Yarbough, who police said was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from the Honda. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as Donald Wayne Hayes, 50, of Wake Forest, was not injured.
No charged have been filed in connection with the crash, which remains under investigation.
