Back in April 2018, Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility announced the new Moto G-series and E-series devices. In the entry-level Moto E-series lineup, the company had debuted the Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus, and the Moto E5 Play. While the Moto E5 Play has so far remained a US exclusive handset, Motorola is now launching this device in the European and Latin American countries, with Android Oreo (Go Edition) software. The specifications, features, and other notable things have changed compared to the standard version. Let’s check out all these details below.
The smartphone is said to ship in Black, Dark Lake, and Flash Gray colour options. The device is priced at EUR 109 (Rs. 8,734) and will be available in European and Latin American markets starting from this month itself. As of now, Motorola has not announced the Indian availability of the handset but we recommend you to stay tuned with us, as we will be updating more details on our website if the phone will be arriving in India anytime soon.
Compared to the standard variant of the Moto E5 Play, which features a 5.2-inch display (16:9 aspect ratio), the newer version now comes with a 5.3-inch screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device offers a similar design to the previous Moto E5 Play and comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 425/ 427 processor, aided with 1GB of RAM and 16GB storage. You can also expand the internal memory up to 128GB thanks to microSD card support. On the software front, the smartphone boots Android 8.1 Oreo (Android Go Edition) out of the box with the stock Android user interface. As the device comes under the Android Go program, you get access to all the native Go Edition Google apps.
