As you can see in the video below, courtesy of Chasing Average, Red Faction Guerilla Remastered really brings significant and subtle visuals enhancements compared to the original game.
Let’s start with the texture quality, while it might not seem much of an improvement but a side by side comparison shows that the developers have put some effort in enhancing the game’s texture quality over the original game.
The Red Faction Guerilla Remastered also bring improved draw distance with far away buildings and mountains showcasing an increased level of detail. Texture filtering has also been bumped with the game showcasing much more detail.
The ground textures have also been overhauled as you can see in the scene with Samanya the terrain looks much more detailed along with the improved texture quality of the rocks around it.
Furthermore, the lighting quality has also been improved with a remastered version featuring realistic volumetric lighting and the clouds also seem to be volumetric.
The game also retains the complete destruction capabilities of the original and with improved visuals and effects, the destruction looks even more beautiful compared to the original PC port of the game.
Speaking of the remastered titles, original Spyro games are also being remastered for the PS4 titles “Spyro Reignited Trilogy”.
Original Spyro games came out for PS1 and the subsequent consoles and the graphics comparison shows that devs have done a really good job remastering Spyro game.
