The Arcadia race track will host the Breeders’ Cup for a record 10th time next year, and the series will return to Del Mar in 2021 after a stop at Keeneland in 2020.
The Breeders’ Cup is coming back to Southern California.
The prestigious series of Grade I thoroughbred races will return to Santa Anita next year, it was announced Friday morning, after the Arcadia race track had hosted it four times over a five-year stretch from 2012-16.
This will be a record 10th time Santa Anita has hosted the event. It was held at Del Mar last year and will be run at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 2-3.
Keeneland in Lexington, Ky., will reportedly host the Breeders’ Cup in 2020, followed by Del Mar in 2021.
