DJ Koh added “I am building a complete ecosystem of smart devices for the millennials in India. We are not concerned about the sales numbers but focus on creating a trust bond with our customers and partners in the country where we are the leader for years,”
Samsung India’s Senior Vice President of the Mobile Business, Asim Warsi, reiterated Koh’s statement as he said “Unlike others, Samsung is a full-range player and offers a complete range of devices. We have more to offer across the segment than any other vendor. This momentum will continue for the Indian market for the rest of the year”. This shows that Samsung is viewing India as a major market for all electronic devices owing to the vast nature of the market.
Despite losing out its spot as India’s top smartphone brand in the recent years the Korean giant is still in the top spot when it comes to the premium smartphones in the country, in the first half of 2018, according to a report from CyberMedia Research (CMR). The company had a market share of 48% and was followed by OnePlus and Apple, both of which had 25% and 22% share respectively.
