On Monday, the government archives released a list of the questions that Judge Brett Kavanaugh — who has been nominated to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat — wanted to ask former President Bill Clinton when Kavanaugh was on the independent counsel team investigating Clinton’s relationship with his intern, Monica Lewinsky.
The document released is a memo that Kavanaugh sent to investigator Ken Starr and other attorneys on the team. Kavanaugh introduced his questions by writing that “the idea of going easy on [Clinton] in the questioning is abhorrent to me.”
In the next paragraph, Kavanaugh thoroughly lashed Clinton, writing that he “disgraced his Office, the legal system, and the American people.”
Kavanaugh intended to ask Clinton some very direct questions, including whether he “ejaculated into the sink in the bathroom off the Oval Office» and «inserted a cigar into her vagina while […] in the Oval Office area.”
The memo was released after The Washington Post filed a Freedom of Information Act with the National Archives.
The cigar that Kavanaugh wanted to ask about is mentioned at least twice in Starr’s report when Lewinsky reportedly told investigators that “[Clinton] was chewing on a cigar. And then he had the cigar in his hand and he was kind of looking at the cigar in… sort of a naughty way. And so… I looked at the cigar and I looked at him and I said, we can do that, too, some time.”
The sexually explicit questions are sure to evoke allusions to President Donald Trump’s own salacious past, one that is riddled with alleged hush payments to porn stars and affairs .
Democrats have been infuriated with the lack of access they have had to Kavanaugh’s files. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N. Y.) said that his caucus is ready to sue the National Archives for the release of troves of documents relating to Kavanaugh.
Schumer and his fellow Democrats have also accused Republicans of stifling access to what they say are hundreds of thousands of documents detailing Kavanaugh’s past that are yet unreleased.
