The Mets aren’t just having trouble selling a chunk of the team, they also can’t keep their TV audience.
The team’s average household rating on regional sports network SNY is 2.12 for the season-to-date — down 8.2 percent from the 2.31 rating recorded over the same period last year, according to Nielsen.
The Yankees, by comparison, are up 1.4 percent for the season to date. Their average rating on the team’s YES Network telecasts is a more robust 3.62 — up from 3.57 last year.
The lack of interest in the Mets is equally apparent in team merchandise.
No member of the team made the Top 20 in year-to-date jersey sales, according to stats from Major League Baseball.
Yankee Aaron Judge led the top-selling list for the second season in a row.
Fellow Yankee outfielder Giancarlo Stanton also made the cut, coming in at No. 9.
