The OnePlus CEO announced that the company is working on a Smart TV called the OnePlus TV. More details and features on iGyaan
Everyone knows that OnePlus is gearing up to launch a flagship smartphone later this year. However, what came as quite a surprise is the company’s announcement to build a Smart TV. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced this by penning a blog post. Without giving out any concrete information, he stated that OnePlus wants to bring the home environment to the next level of intelligent connectivity. And the Smart TV will be called the OnePlus TV. Lau’s declaration suggesting that the OnePlus TV will be aimed at improving the lives of customers with the help of technology and “building a connected human experience”.
The OnePlus TV will also have an AI assistant. However, it is too soon to say whether it will be a personalised assistant or the company will espouse assistants like Alexa or Google Assistant. The blog post also hints that the TV will be connected with your smartphones.
The One Plus CEO claims that the company wants the whole community to be involved in shaping the OnePlus TV. Following the claim, OnePlus has just launched a new contest. The contest allows members of the OnePlus community to name the upcoming TV.
This is not the first time OnePlus is doing something like this. Even in the past, the company took to its community to suggest the name of ‘OnePlus One’ and ‘OxygenOS’.
The OnePlus TV contest allows the users to suggest the name for the product before October 17. There is no limit to the suggestion of names. That is, each user can suggest as many name as they wish. However, if different users suggest a similar name, the user who suggested the name first will be considered. The company declared that they will choose their top 10 suggestions on October 31. Those favourites will get a pair of OnePlus Bullets Wireless. The company declared that 10 favourites will be chosen from native country China as well. The final winner will get the OnePlus TV and one trip to the OnePlus TV launch event.
